The first application
SIMULATION OF MRI RF-INDUCED HEATING ON IMPLANTED STENTS
This project is a collaboration between InSilicoTrials, ANSYS and FDA, to support the broadening use of Computer Modeling and Simulation for electromagnetic safety analysis prior to medical device submission, with the goal of extending the adoption of MRI as a diagnostic tool for patients with implanted devices.
Stent models can be evaluated replicating ASTM F2182 standard test for measurement of radio frequency-induced heating on passive implants during MRI. After setting up input parameters (e.g. geometrical and material properties), simulations are run in the cloud with the FEM electromagnetic solver ANSYS HFSS. Afterward, users can view results and create a report for medical device regulatory submission.
